As Thanksgiving approaches, we would like to express our deep gratitude to everyone in the Vanderbilt community. We are grateful for your hard work this year and throughout the historic challenges of the past two years. We applaud all that you do to uphold our tradition of excellence and advance our mission to empower tomorrow’s leaders.
This is traditionally a time to reflect on what we value in our lives. We set aside differences to enjoy fellowship at a common table. Particularly this year, we celebrate the simple joy of being together.
At Vanderbilt, we value our uniquely collaborative culture of belonging and growing. We see it in everything from groundbreaking advancements in research and scholarship, to success in athletics and achievements in the arts, to partnerships that improve the quality of life in our community. And throughout the course of the pandemic, we have learned that together we can do more than we ever thought possible. That momentum is carrying us forward toward even higher ambitions and new opportunities every day.
As we enter the holiday season, we remind everyone in our community to travel safely and be mindful of public health. Please also take time to savor the well-deserved rest and relaxation the next week offers. It is vital that we recharge our spirits for the work ahead.
We wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and a peaceful break and are thankful for each of you and your contributions to our Vanderbilt community.
Sincerely,
Daniel Diermeier
