International Student and Scholar Services, in collaboration with the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, will host an online workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from noon to 1 p.m. CT for J-1 exchange visitors to discuss health insurance.
On Jan. 1, 2021, J-1 exchange visitors at Vanderbilt were moved to a new insurance plan to meet Department of State requirements. This workshop will provide information on J-1 insurance requirements, along with a brief overview of the U.S. health care system.
The session will include a representative from Aetna who can answer specific questions about the university’s J-1 insurance plan. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, and participants also may send questions in advance when registering.
