Staff and postdocs who submit vaccination record by July 19 eligible for $1,000 prize drawing

Get a shot at $1,000

As announced last month, COVID-19 vaccinations will be required for all members of the Vanderbilt University community for the 2021–22 academic school year. The deadline for staff and postdocs to submit vaccination records is July 31.

As an opportunity to thank those who submit their vaccination record early, the Division of Administration will conduct a drawing for 25 Vanderbilt University-employed staff and postdocs from across the university who submit their vaccination record to the university’s vaccine portal by 8 a.m. July 19 to receive $1,000 each.

“We know that many of our staff and postdocs have been working diligently over the past year to ensure our campus continues its mission of education and research,” said Eric Kopstain, vice chancellor for administration. “In addition to providing opportunities for them to have access here on campus to receive vaccines through walk-up clinics, we also wanted to provide a unique way to thank them for doing their part to keep our campus as safe and healthy as possible.”

Receiving your vaccine

Staff and postdocs who have not yet received their vaccination may visit the free walk-up vaccination clinics taking place on campus in June and July  or may find a vaccination site  elsewhere in the community.

The on-campus clinics are scheduled for June 16, 2–4 p.m., at the School of Nursing and June 17, 7–9 a.m., at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center for first dose of Pfizer vaccine. Second doses are scheduled for July 7 and 14, 2–4 p.m. at the School of Nursing and July 8 and 15, 7–9 a.m. at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.

A benefit of attending one of the university’s walk-up clinics to receive a vaccination is that the record can be entered at that time as a convenience into the university’s vaccine tracker for both entry into the drawing and also compliance with the vaccine requirement.

Submitting your vaccination record

Staff and postdocs, including those who received their vaccine from Occupational Health, VUMC or a VUMC clinic, must submit their full vaccination record, which includes the first and second dose, using the university’s vaccine tracker submission form by 8 a.m. July 19 to be eligible for the drawing. Those who have already submitted their record will also be eligible.

Winners will be contacted by July 23.
