“COVID-19 has laid bare the inequities affecting communities of color, but these issues are not unique to the current pandemic, nor are they a new phenomenon,” said Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at Vanderbilt University Dr. André L. Churchwell, who will serve as moderator for the webinar. “As medical professionals, we’ve seen firsthand the racial disparities in health care access and quality that have persisted for decades. This important discussion will explore these challenges and ways we can address them to improve health outcomes in our community.”

A follow-up to a similar discussion focused on COVID-19 a year ago, the webinar will address pertinent issues affecting the most vulnerable members of the Nashville community. An expert panel of community health leaders will offer ideas and solutions from a public health, public policy and broad medical perspective.
