Vanderbilt’s masking, physical distancing protocols remain in place for Commencement

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Nashville Metro Public Health Department shared new guidance regarding masks on May 13. Vanderbilt University’s protocols remain in place and are unchanged for campus Commencement ceremonies May 15–16.

All graduates, guests and other members of the Vanderbilt community attending Commencement must remain masked at all times on campus and must maintain physical distancing with those outside of their guest unit.

While this updated CDC guidance is encouraging and a promising beacon of increasing vaccination rates, Vanderbilt must keep members of its community as safe as possible, with guests from across the country coming to campus for Commencement.

Vanderbilt Public Health AmbassaDores will be on site May 15–16 to distribute face masks.
