Vanderbilt to recognize emeriti faculty at Class of 2020 Commencement ceremony

Vanderbilt University will recognize the 34 faculty members who retired last academic year at its Class of 2020 Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 1.

The faculty were designated emeritus or emerita professors in 2020. A faculty member who has served the university with distinction over a period of years, and whose status remains active until retirement, may, upon recommendation of the appropriate dean and the chancellor, be awarded the title “emeritus” or “emerita” by the Board of Trust.
