The webinars are aimed at helping faculty diversify and strategically identify potential federal sponsors, develop relationships with sponsors, and craft highly competitive proposals.

Learn how to develop materials to successfully approach sponsors, receive initial feedback, and build relationships at federal agencies and foundations. The session will cover the basics of creating white papers and letters of interest. The focus will be on practical writing tips and sponsor-specific considerations. Panelists will share insider perspectives on engaging with agencies, particularly any specific requirements, and will answer participant questions.
Panelists will include:
- Margaret Walker Clair, acting deputy director for the Division of Preservation and Access at the National Endowment for the Humanities
- Douglas Fisher, associate professor of computer science and computer engineering at Vanderbilt University. From July 2007 to August 2010, Fisher served as a program director in the Division of Information and Intelligent Systems within the National Science Foundation’s Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate.
- Sandeep Neema, professor of computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering at VanderbiltUniversity. Neema is currently serving as a program manager in the Information Innovation Office within the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the Department of Defense.
