Applications for Joe C. Davis Fund, which supports immersion projects, now being acceptedJan. 27, 2021, 8:00 AM
The Office of Immersion Resources is currently accepting applications for the Joe C. Davis Fund to support Immersion Vanderbilt projects. Applications are open to all undergraduate students with qualifying immersive experiences.
The fund will be awarded to support projects occurring during the spring 2021 semester within the Civic and Professional pathway, including—but not limited to—internships, service projects and volunteer opportunities. Experiences also must be done with an entity or organization in Nashville or the greater Middle Tennessee region.
Applications for the Joe C. Davis Fund can be submitted on InfoReady and must include a detailed budget and a letter of support from the student’s immersion faculty adviser. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the spring semester. Awarded students are responsible for abiding by current Vanderbilt travel policy, and they should complete a travel request form if leaving the Nashville or Davidson County area.
The fund was established by the Joe C. Davis Foundation in honor of Joe C. Davis Jr., a 1941 graduate of Vanderbilt. Regarded as a Vanderbilt tennis legend, Davis won SEC titles in 1939, 1940 and 1941 and later served on the Vanderbilt Board of Trust.
