’Dores in Dialogue: A conversation on the history and complexities of the term Latinx Jan. 29

'Dores in DialogueThe Vanderbilt Association of Hispanic and Latinx Alumni (VAHLA) and the Vanderbilt Alumni Association invite the university community to attend the virtual event, “’Dores in Dialogue: A Conversation on the History and Complexities of the Term Latinx,” on Friday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Panelists William Luis, Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in the Humanities and professor of Spanish; Gretchen Selcke, senior lecturer and director of Latino and Latina Studies; Maria Loaiza Bonilla, Class of 2021, vice president, Association of Latin American Students (ALAS); and Teresa Temkin, BA’11, president, VAHLA, will consider Vanderbilt’s changing student demographics and the recent adoption of the term in conjunction with a growing Latinx population on campus.
