Submit biweekly time cards, report holiday time in advance of winter break

Biweekly employees and student workers are strongly encouraged to submit their time cards, and their managers are encouraged to approve those time cards, as soon as work is completed and prior to departure for the winter break, unless the employee will be working during the break.

If you are eligible to be paid during the winter break from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1, you must record this time on your time card in order to receive pay.  An article with instructions and examples of the updated process, titled “Reporting time for University Official Holidays,” is available in the Oracle Cloud My Knowledge app. (Note: Remember to sign in to Oracle via Company Single Sign-On).

If you will be working during the break, please ensure your time card is submitted as soon as you finish working and approved by your manager before 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28.

APPROVAL DEADLINE ACCELERATED DUE TO THE HOLIDAYS

Due to the New Year’s Day holiday on Friday, Jan. 1, paychecks for biweekly employees will be processed on an accelerated timeline. Managers of biweekly employees should work with their team members to ensure timely submission and approval of time cards before 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28.

If a manager will be unable to approve the time card, their line manager can approve time cards on their behalf or, alternatively, the line manager may delegate their approvals by setting a vacation delegate in their BPM worklist preferences. Instructions for these actions are available in My Knowledge (Note: Remember to sign in to Oracle via Company Single Sign-On):

REMINDER: RECRUITING AND ONBOARDING TRANSITIONING INTO ORACLE

Vanderbilt is migrating its staff recruiting and onboarding activities from Taleo into Oracle Cloud as the 2021 calendar year begins. With this migration, internal candidates will be able to apply for new opportunities directly within Oracle Cloud, and external candidates will apply for opportunities using an updated external site.

Training and resources for using Oracle recruiting and onboarding are being made available beginning this week in Oracle Learning and the Help Center, and users may search for these using the keyword “recruiting.”
