Accellion Secure File Transfer will be retired beginning Jan. 1, 2021, for Vanderbilt University users. In preparation for the retirement, VUIT recommends using OneDrive for Business for securely sharing or transferring files. All university faculty, staff and students have access to this service.
Details of using OneDrive for Business for Secure File Transfer are as follows:
- OneDrive for Business uses SSL encryption.
- The maximum file size is 100GB.
- Recipients are notified via email with a link to access the file.
- The sender is notified when the recipient accesses a file.
VUIT has prepared a Secure File Transfer User Guide, which demonstrates how to use Microsoft Office 365 OneDrive for Business to share a file securely with a colleague. The user guide provides detailed steps for connecting to OneDrive, uploading files, sharing files and modifying permissions.
