Inclusive Book Group to discuss Tara Westover’s ‘Educated’ Dec. 2

Vanderbilt’s Inclusive Book Group will meet online Wednesday, Dec. 2, to discuss Educated, Tara Westover’s memoir about overcoming her survivalist Mormon family to attend college, and the significant role education played in enlarging her world.

The virtual gathering, hosted by the Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center in partnership with the Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries, will take place from noon to 1 p.m. CT.

The Inclusive Book Group encourages Vanderbilt community members to read beyond their comfort zone and explore new authors and subjects. The group is scheduled to meet two additional times during the 2020-21 academic year. Participants also can discuss I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou on Feb. 24, and Circe by Madeline Miller on May 5.

The Inclusive Book Group welcomes all interested individuals. To participate, contact ACE@vanderbilt.edu for the Zoom link.
