Limited Submission Opportunity: 2021 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards

Vanderbilt University may nominate one faculty member in the chemical sciences for the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program.

The chemical sciences include chemistry, biochemistry, materials chemistry and chemical engineering. The program provides discretionary funding to faculty at an early stage in their careers who demonstrate leadership in research and education. The nomination should describe dedication and contributions to education in the chemical sciences, particularly with respect to undergraduates.

Nominations must provide compelling evidence of the advance of important knowledge in the chemical sciences by the nominee.

Eligibility criteria

  • Must hold full-time tenure-track academic appointment
  • Must have been appointed no earlier than mid-year 2015
  • May be re-nominated

Criteria for selection include an independent body of scholarship attained within the first five years of their appointment as independent researchers, and a demonstrated commitment to education signaling the promise of continuing outstanding contributions to both research and teaching.

Award information

The program provides an unrestricted research grant of $100,000 over five years. Of the total amount, $7,500 is for departmental expenses associated with research and education. Charges associated with indirect costs or institutional overhead are not allowed. Defrayal of academic-year salary is not permitted.
