Chancellor Daniel Diermeier discussed his research and scholarship on management, political science, public policy and more during two recent virtual webinars with Owen Graduate School of Management and the College of Arts and Science.
On Sept. 9, Diermeier shared his research on organizational reputation and leadership during a webinar with Owen’s faculty. The conversation was moderated by Eric Johnson, Ralph Owen Dean and Bruce D. Henderson Professor of Strategy; Kelly Goldsmith, associate professor of marketing; and Rangaraj Ramanujam, Richard M. and Betty Ruth Miller Professor of Management and professor of health policy. Diermeier, who holds the title of University Distinguished Professor at Owen, previously taught at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

On Sept. 24, the chancellor discussed his work on public policy and political science with students, faculty and staff from the College of Arts and Science. The discussion was moderated by Larry Bartels, Professor of Political Science and May Werthan Shayne Chair in Public Policy and Social Science; Eunji Kim, Assistant Professor of Political Science; Jennifer Larson, Associate Professor of Political Science; and Lesley Turner, Associate Professor of Economics.
John Geer, Ginny and Conner Searcy Dean of the College of Arts and Science, opened the hour-long discussion. Diermeier is University Distinguished Professor of Political Science in the College of Arts and Science and once served as the dean of the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
Diermeier plans to hold similar events sharing his research with all of Vanderbilt’s schools and colleges throughout the 2020-2021 academic year. Dates for individual events are forthcoming.
