The seventh annual Vanderbilt Undergraduate Research Fair is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. The event will be entirely virtual this fall.
The fair will feature poster presentations of student research projects that are representative of a variety of fields and disciplines. The following breakout sessions are also scheduled to provide students with information about research opportunities for undergraduates across and beyond campus:
- 3 p.m. “Using Research to Prepare for Medical School,” Michelle Grundy, director, Health Professions Advisory Office
- 3 p.m. “Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences,” Joanna Huh, postdoctoral scholar in the Department of English, early modern English drama and poetry; and Megan Skaggs, Ph.D. candidate in international education policy and management, Center for Latin American Studies
- 3:30 p.m. “Highlighting Underrepresented Research Stories: A Panel Discussion,” Jordan Brown, Ph.D. candidate in pharmacology; Samaiyah Farid, Ph.D. candidate in astrophysics; Sarah Naguib, Ph.D. candidate in neuroscience; and Isaiah Speight, Ph.D. candidate in chemistry

The Undergraduate Research Fair is sponsored by the Vanderbilt Undergraduate Summer Research Program, the Littlejohn family, the Goldberg family, the Office of the Provost and the Office of Immersion Resources.
