The Vanderbilt community is delighted to welcome Daniel Diermeier on July 1 as the university’s ninth chancellor. An internationally renowned scholar, Diermeier comes to Nashville from the University of Chicago, where most recently he served as provost.
“I knew about the strength of the university,” Diermeier said of Vanderbilt’s reputation. “What I didn’t know was the culture and what really made it unique. And what I learned was that this culture of collaboration and cooperation wasn’t just something that people talked about, it was lived.”
