Vanderbilt lights up athletic fields in tribute to VUMC frontline workers

Vanderbilt Athletics will light up recreation fields along Blakemore Avenue on the southern border of campus in tribute to the first responders and frontline workers at Vanderbilt University Medical Center caring for COVID-19 patients and others in the Nashville community.

The lights will be turned on at Recreation Fields 1, 2, 3 and 4 from 9 to 9:15 p.m. each evening beginning May 11 through May 31.

“This initiative is to show our appreciation to Vanderbilt frontline workers and VUMC staff for all their dedicated work in these unprecedented times,” said Lynn Smith, associate director and senior adviser at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.
