Vanderbilt’s Oracle Cloud environment will undergo its next quarterly upgrade the weekend of May 15–16.
The scheduled downtime begins at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and will end on Saturday, May 16. Please plan ahead for this period when the system will be unavailable.
A downtime notice will be displayed on the SkyVU website while the update is underway and removed when completed and the system is available to all users.
In this update: Enhancements to Oracle Learning and updated apps for managers
Updated apps for managers
Following this update, managers will see updates in their My Team apps and related Quick Actions for activities such as reviewing their team information, time and absences.
Enhancements to Oracle Learning
Following this update, all employees and students will see improved access to their Current Learning assignments and a streamlined view for the activities in each course. In addition, this update adds a number of Quick Actions that provide access to common Learning activities with reduced clicks.
Managers also will see updates to the Learning pages under My Team for viewing team learning progress and assigning training to their team members.
Submit and approve biweekly timecards before 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15
Biweekly employees and student workers should submit their timecards, and their managers should approve those timecards, as soon as work is completed on the second Friday of the biweekly period unless they will be working over the weekend. This is particularly important on Friday, May 15, as the system will not be available during the maintenance period.
If you will be working over the weekend, please ensure your timecard is submitted as soon as possible after you finish working and approved by your manager before noon on Monday, May 18.
