“Looking Forward to the Future: A Photographic Journey into the Lives of Women Experiencing Homelessness” will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at The Salvation Army Center of Hope, 631 Dickerson Pike, Nashville.

The event is sponsored by the Meharry-Vanderbilt Community Engaged Research Core.

A light breakfast will be provided. Please RSVP to cerc@vumc.org or call (615) 963-2817.

For three months, a group of women living at the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope participated in a “PhotoVoice” group. The purpose of this project was to share stories of the lives of women experiencing homelessness in Nashville through photographs. The pictures taken explored themes such as hope and joy, the importance of familial relationships, and the need for acceptance. We hope you will plan to attend as we share the results from this enlightening project.

Presenter: Rachel Underwood, Vanderbilt University Ph.D. Student, 2018-19 CERC Scholar
