Faculty and staff invited to electronic research administration system vendor demos in September

Sponsored Programs Administration in the Office of the Vice Provost for Research invites Vanderbilt faculty and staff to upcoming product demonstrations by the two vendors, InfoEd and Huron, under consideration for Vanderbilt’s next electronic research administration (eRA) system. The demonstrations, along with feedback from those who attend them, will inform Vanderbilt’s decision on which system will replace the current Coeus and PEER systems that are used to facilitate sponsored research on campus.

“With over 2,000 proposals submitted to external sponsors every year, Vanderbilt University faculty and staff have never been more prolific,” Vice Provost for Research Padma Raghavan said. “Their feedback will be critical to the selection of the right electronic research administration solution to advance sponsored projects university-wide.”

Director of Research Administration Systems and Reporting Hilda McMackin will lead the selection of the new eRA system and its implementation. In this effort, McMackin will work closely with Greg Kyle, assistant provost for Process and Solution Implementations in the Office of the Vice Provost for University Enrollment Affairs, as well as research faculty and support staff across the university.

The two vendors will be on campus in September to demonstrate their eRA products. Each vendor will provide two public demonstrations while its team is on campus so that more members of the campus community can attend. Each demo will consist of a presentation by the vendor of how research proposals can be developed, submitted and awarded through the system, with time built in for questions and answers.
