The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), Vanderbilt University’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office and the Nashville Industry Liaison Group will sponsor an event on the Vanderbilt campus Friday, July 19, to bolster recruitment of individuals with disabilities.
“The Faces of the 7 Percent” will offer best practices for creating an all-inclusive workplace. Participants will learn how to bolster their outreach and positive recruitment efforts of people with disabilities into quantifiable results. The event also will provide networking opportunities for Nashville employers and the contractor community as well as community-based organizations.
The event is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Kissam Center.
The OFCCP monitors contractors’ compliance with affirmative action. The Nashville Industry Liaison Group is a local chapter of the National Industry Liaison Group, the premier association of federal contractors supporting affirmative action and equal opportunity in the workplace through liaisons with the OFCCP, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other government agencies. Anita Jenious, director of Vanderbilt’s EEOO, is chair of the Nashville Industry Liaison Group and a former member of the national board.
