Vanderbilt University Information Technology is continually striving to simplify, modernize and make systems more secure at VU. Earlier this summer, all VU Microsoft Office 365 login credentials were changed from users’ VUnetID@vanderbilt.edu to users’ primary email addresses (usually firstname.lastname@vanderbilt.edu). Last week, VUIT successfully aligned 1,603 Skype account logins from users’ secondary email addresses to their primary email addresses.
The alignment of users’ online identities was a critical first step in preparing to migrate VU email accounts from Outlook/Exchange to Microsoft Office 365 in the cloud. With this first step successfully completed, VUIT will begin migrating email accounts to Office 365 this month.
