The Blair School of Music Precollege and Adult Program has been renamed Blair Academy at Vanderbilt. Blair Academy offers private music lessons, ensembles and classes for students from infants to octogenarians.
For more than 50 years, Blair has offered the Middle Tennessee community top-quality music education for children, youth and adults. In 1980, Blair Academy joined Vanderbilt University. By reaffirming its original name, Blair honors the school’s founding, celebrates its distinguished legacy, and looks forward to an exciting and dynamic future as an integral part of Vanderbilt’s world-renowned community of learning.
Registration for the fall 2019 semester is now open. Visit the Blair website and explore the possibilities. Private music lessons are offered in orchestral instruments, piano, voice and many folk instruments. Ensembles include the Blair Children’s Chorus, Nashville Youth Orchestra Program, Blair Suzuki violin and cello program, Fiddle Frenzy and the Folk Instrument String Band. There are six Kindermusik classes for infants to age 5 and their caregivers. Classes in songwriting, music theory and more are offered for youth and adults.
Registration begins July 8. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 14.
