Vigil today for victims of New Zealand terrorist attacks

The Muslim Students Association at Vanderbilt and the Office of the University Chaplain and Religious Life invite the Vanderbilt community to come together for a vigil on Monday, March 18, to stand in solidarity for the victims of the New Zealand terrorist attacks and their families. The event begins at 3:30 p.m. at the wall outside Rand Hall.

Those giving remarks will include Imam Ossama Bahloul, resident scholar of the Islamic Center of Nashville; Fayo Abadula, president of the Muslim Students Association at Vanderbilt; Shun Ahmed, Muslim Students Association; the Rev. Shantell Hinton, assistant university chaplain and assistant director of Religious Life; Ruiy Shah, treasurer, Vanderbilt Interfaith Council; Vanderbilt Student Government President Tariq Issa; and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Susan R. Wente and Associate Provost and Dean of Students Mark Bandas.
