The Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center and Health Plus present “The Pastabilities are Endless” on Wednesday, March 13. This installment of Vandy Cooks will be from noon to 1 p.m. at the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center teaching kitchen.

Marilyn Holmes, registered dietitian; Emily Cox, health educator; and Casey Parish, Sarah Pennington, Alyssa Scotese and Amanda Mason, the 2018-19 Vanderbilt dietetic interns, will lead the presentation.

Watch as these nutrition experts demonstrate culinary techniques and go “hands on” to prepare dishes carefully chosen for this cooking class. Learn the art of making homemade tomato sauce and Italian meatballs using turkey and Pecorino cheese, as well as a meat alternative. A “toppings bar” will be available for attendees to take the simple tomato base and create an Italian masterpiece. Attendees will receive samples of the dishes created and recipes complete with nutrition analysis.
