The Next Steps at Vanderbilt Summer Institute is an inclusive higher education preparatory experience for rising high school juniors (17+ years old), seniors, and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities up to the age of 25.

Summer Institute dates: Sunday, June 16 – Friday, June 21, 2019

Counselors support the students in residential, academic and social settings. The ratio of counselors to students is roughly 1:3. Counselors co-teach class sessions, accompany the students on campus to different sites as well as to the off-campus activities like the Country Music Hall of Fame. They also support students in the residence hall with helping students manage their time, prepare meals and socialize with new friends.

Hourly pay is commensurate with experience. Meals, housing, and parking are provided.
