Test of outdoor warning system scheduled for Oct. 6

Vanderbilt University Public Safety has upgraded the university’s outdoor warning system to provide more coverage with better intelligibility and communication. A full-scale test will take place on Oct. 6 at noon to coincide with Metro’s monthly test.

The upgraded system consists of seven new sirens, in addition to five original sirens, improving outdoor coverage across the Vanderbilt campus.

In the case of inclement weather, the test will be rescheduled.
