Constitution Day celebration features documentary, voter registration opportunities

Sep. 11, 2018, 10:14 PM

A documentary film screening and Q&A with the filmmakers will mark Constitution Day at Vanderbilt.

A Greater Society, produced and directed by Vanderbilt alumna Stacy Goldate with Craig A. Colton, will screen from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at The Commons Center, Multipurpose Room 235.

A Greater Society documents the filmmakers’ efforts to embed themselves in a South Florida retirement community during the historic 2014 midterm elections, where they discover that power exists where you least expect it. Learn more about the film at www.agreatersociety.com.

The event is free and open to the public. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last. The event will feature voter registration opportunities.

The Sept. 17 event is sponsored by The Ingram Commons, Public Policy Studies, MyCommons.Life, Student Media at Vanderbilt, and the Office of Active Citizenship and Service.
