Congratulations to Vanderbilt Bowling: 2018 national champions!

Commodore nation,

Vanderbilt Bowling has done it again—clinching their second NCAA Bowling Championship! We are so proud of the success, hard work and dedication of these outstanding student-athletes and of their coach, John Williamson.

The No. 4 Commodores rallied from an early deficit to defeat No. 2 McKendree in the dramatic win in St. Louis Saturday night. The whole team contributed to the victory, with sophomore Emily Rigby and senior Katie Stark winning the final frames.

This weekend’s win marks the university’s fourth national championship, all earned under the leadership of Vice Chancellor for Athletics and University Affairs David Williams. It came the same day that the Commodores women’s tennis team won their second straight SEC regular season championship. These latest successes are a testament to the outstanding level of competition and excellence that our student-athletes bring to Vanderbilt, both on and off the playing field.

Please join me in congratulating and celebrating Vanderbilt Bowling and our student-athletes. Today and every day, it’s good to be GOLD!

Go ’Dores!

Sincerely,

Nicholas S. Zeppos
