Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, first performed on Good Friday 1727, is widely considered one of the crowning artistic achievements of Western civilization.
The Vanderbilt Chorale and Symphonic Choir, the Blair Children’s Chorus, the Vanderbilt University Orchestra and evangelist Tyler Nelson will perform the piece at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, in Ingram Hall at Blair School of Music under the direction of Tucker Biddlecombe, conductor, and Gayle Shay, director.
