Vanderbilt marks 50th anniversary of King’s death

Students, faculty and staff gathered Wednesday evening to mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They formed a unity circle and shared a moment of silence at 6:01 p.m., the time of the shooting on April 4, 1968, then joined in a nationwide ringing of bells 39 times to mark each year of King's life.
