For the 12th consecutive year, Vanderbilt University is supporting the Richland Creek Run, scheduled for Saturday, April 21. The certified five-mile course takes runners and walkers through sections of the historic Sylvan Park neighborhood and on the beautiful Richland Creek Greenway.
Founded and organized primarily by neighborhood volunteers, proceeds from the Richland Creek Run benefit Greenways for Nashville, the nonprofit member organization dedicated to the creation, preservation and promotion of Nashville and Davidson County’s greenway system.
Vanderbilt registrants may obtain a $5 discount with online registration through Sunday, April 1, by using the discount code RCR12VU. Register at www.richlandcreekrun.com.
The race begins and ends at the Cohn Learning Center, 4805 Park Avenue. Runners and walkers registered by April 6 will receive a collectible Richland Creek Run T-shirt. Race awards will be made for overall and category winners, and team prizes will be awarded for the largest, the fastest, and the most spirited teams. Registered runners and walkers are welcome to bring jogging strollers and their well-behaved, leashed, family dogs.
After the race, awards will be presented at the M.L. Rose Craft Beer & Burgers Charlotte Avenue location, where participants will enjoy specials on beer, door prizes and the chance to bid on this year’s silent auction.
For just $10, you also can register kids for the Dinky Dash, a half-mile fun run for children 12 and under. Dinky Dash participants will receive a medal and a post-race Popsicle.
