Vanderbilt University’s annual Service Award Ceremony set for Jan. 30

Vanderbilt University’s annual Service Award Ceremony recognizes employees who celebrated significant service milestones in 2017. The recipients of this year’s Commodore Award—given annually to staff members who have made significant contributions to VU’s pursuit of excellence in education, research and community service—also will be announced at the event. The inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Distinguished Leadership Award will be presented to a full-time regular staff member who has demonstrated exemplary contributions to Vanderbilt University’s mission, as well as exhibited outstanding commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

You can share in the fun and congratulate your colleagues on their accomplishments by attending this year’s ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the Student Life Center. Red carpet arrivals begin at 2:45 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 3 p.m. Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos will host along with master of ceremonies John Lutz, vice chancellor for information technology. All VU employees are invited.
