Inclement weather forecast for Friday; notification to be sent if classes cancelled

The forecast for Friday, Jan. 12 calls for a chance of freezing rain, ice and snow. If weather conditions necessitate the cancellation of classes, text, email and phone messages will be sent to all students, faculty and staff by 5 a.m. Friday morning through the Everbridge messaging platform. The information will also be shared on the Vanderbilt homepage, on the university’s Facebook and Twitter accounts and with local media outlets. All faculty, staff and students living off campus are strongly encouraged to evaluate road conditions along their commute and to use discretion in choosing whether or not to travel to campus if the university remains open. Personal safety is the first priority.
