Nominate faculty and staff for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award will be presented Monday, Jan. 15, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or Vanderbilt University Medical Center who emulates the principles of King through their work.

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award will be presented Monday, Jan. 15, to a faculty or staff member in the School of Medicine, School of Nursing or Vanderbilt University Medical Center who emulates the principles of King through their work. This service can be in areas related to creating a better understanding between people of different cultures, working to enhance the economic and health status of individuals, and/or fostering a diverse and inclusive community at Vanderbilt symbolic of King’s teachings.

The award will be presented at the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Lecture on Jan. 15. A committee comprising individuals from the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing will serve as judges for the award.

Please nominate a faculty or staff member for their special contributions to Vanderbilt. The nomination deadline is Monday, Jan. 8, and must include a letter of recommendation from the person nominating as well as the nominee’s résumé.
