Holiday Project cards, merchandise benefit Children’s Hospitalby Christina Echegaray | Dec. 7, 2017, 8:48 AM
A reindeer, polar bears and an ice skater are among the artistic creations adorning products available through the annual Gifts from Friends Holiday Project benefiting patients and families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
The Gifts from Friends Holiday Project offers greeting cards and other merchandise for sale featuring art created by children — patients, siblings and friends — whose lives have been touched by Children’s Hospital.
The project is coordinated by Friends of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, a volunteer organization that provides support to patients and families.
This year, artists include Ben, who received care in the emergency room after an accident on a scooter; Dalton, who has been treated for a congenital heart defect; and Rebecca, who had emergency surgery for an infection in her hip.
Their unique creations are sold to raise funds to support patients and families at Children’s Hospital, and all proceeds benefit the hospital. Items for sale include holiday cards, thank you cards, gift tags and Christie Cookie tins.
Products are available online and at partner retail locations including The Friends Shop at Children’s Hospital, Phillips Toy Mart, The Loveless Café and Hot Pink. To find more retailers or to order online, visit childrensholidayproject.com. To ensure custom card delivery by Dec. 24, all orders must be placed by 5 p.m. CST Dec. 15.
