Last week Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt presented Barktoberfest, a Halloween-themed dog show, for patients and families. The event was hosted by 107.5 The River’s Woody Wood and Jim Chandler. The show featured dogs from the pet therapy program along with a Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) K-9. Patients were treated to face painting, a pair of their own dog ears, coloring and were able to adopt a toy stuffed animal. Here, patient Cornetta Long, 9, pets K-9 officer-in-training Gunner, who visited Children’s Hospital with Sgt. Chris Warner of the MNPD’s Canine Section in the Special Operations Division.
