Donald Brady, M.D., Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development, was elected to the executive committee of the ACGME Board of Directors for a two-year term.
The ACGME accredits 10,000 residency and fellowship programs and 800 sponsoring institutions across 150 specialties and subspecialties, with more than 125,000 residents and fellows.
Brady is starting his second three-year term on the ACGME Board of Directors. In addition to his election to the eight-member Executive Committee, he also serves on the board’s Education Committee, the Journal of Graduate Medical Education Oversight Committee, the Policies and Procedures Subcommittee, which he chairs, the Task Force on Physician Well-being, and Diversity in GME Planning Group.
“I am humbled to have been elected to the board’s executive committee. It is an honor to serve in a leadership role in an organization devoted to improving the care of today’s and tomorrow’s patients through accreditation of graduate medical education,” Brady said. “If residents and fellows realized the time, focus and energy that the ACGME and Board of Directors devotes to them, I think they truly would be amazed. I look forward to the next several years in continuing this work.”
