Earlier this week, the Vanderbilt Career Center hosted three networking events to help students connect with potential employers.
On Monday, Sept. 18, 260 students visited the Student Life Center to participate in a business-themed “SLAM,” a casual speed-networking event where employers presented students with brief pitches about their companies, followed by breakout sessions with students who wished to continue the conversation. Later that evening, 360 students gathered at Featheringill Hall for a similar SLAM geared toward engineering careers.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1,750 students came to the Vanderbilt Recreation and Wellness Center field house to meet with 117 employers at a general career fair. In addition, some 436 students participated in walk-in “blitzes” at the Career Center in order to prepare for these networking opportunities.
