Faculty, staff and students participated in PARK(ing) Day—an internationally recognized event that features parking spaces turned into “pocket parks”—on Sept. 15.

Seventeen spaces in parking lot 5A, adjacent to the Baker Building, were transformed into an outdoor space featuring hammocks, games and giveaways.

Vanderbilt Plant Operations employees took lead roles in designing the space and constructing many of the features, which included a welded-together metal “V” water feature.
The initiative sought to bring more awareness to FutureVU, Vanderbilt’s land use planning initiative. For more information, visit vu.edu/futurevu.
