Grammy-nominated songwriter Odie Blackmon demystifies the world of songwriting for aspiring writers who may not read traditional music. Blackmon is the winner of three ASCAP awards and was named a No. 1 Hot Country Songwriter by Billboard Magazine. “The Number System: Music Theory for Songwriters” meets Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Aug. 24. The 15-week course convenes at the Blair School of Music, Room 1169. The course fee is $260.
