The 2017 Youth Sports Safety Gala and Conference, presented by the Program for Injury Prevention in Youth Sports at Vanderbilt, is scheduled for July 13-14. Participants will learn strategies to help prevent youth sports-related injuries, protect the health of pediatric athletes, and improve their physical literacy. Health professionals, coaches, teachers and parents are invited to attend.
The gala on July 13 will feature dinner, a silent auction, live music and a keynote speaker. The conference on July 14 will feature a number of speakers, including Brian Hainline, chief medical officer for the NCAA; Bob Sallis, chairman for the international Exercise is Medicine initiative; Avery Faigenbaum, a world-renowned professor at The College of New Jersey; Alexandra “Ali” Flury, sports safety manager for Safe Kids Worldwide; and more.
