Bradley University lauds Dewey’s achievements

|

Charlene Dewey, M.D., professor of Medical Education and Adminstration, has been named to receive the 2017 Orville Nothdurft Lifetime Achievement Award from the athletic department at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.

Charlene Dewey, M.D.

The award, given annually since 2001, honors a former Bradley student-athlete who, through their post-BU days, has achieved success in their chosen profession and has continued to serve in such a manner as to bring honor to oneself, Bradley athletics in general and the university as a whole.

Dewey is an inductee to the Bradley University Athletic Hall of Fame, and during her time there as an undergraduate she was an All-American, All-State, and All-Conference heptathlete — the track and field event combining seven events.

The award is named for Orville Nothdurft, who played tennis at Bradley and went on to serve for many years as an administrator at the school.
