Aronoff elected to microbiology academy

Infectious diseases specialist David Aronoff, M.D., recently became one of 73 new fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology, an honorific leadership group within the American Society of Microbiology.

Infectious diseases specialist David Aronoff, M.D., recently became one of 73 new fellows of the American Academy of Microbiology, an honorific leadership group within the American Society of Microbiology.

Fellows are elected annually through a peer-review process, based on their record of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology. This year’s fellows come from the United States, Germany, Australia, Canada, India, China and the United Kingdom. In all, there are more than 2,400 fellows representing all subspecialties of the microbial sciences.

Aronoff directs the Division of Infectious Diseases and is the Addison B. Scoville Jr. Professor of Medicine, professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology and associate professor of Medicine, Health and Society.
