Fidelity two-factor authentication implemented

Keeping retirement plan participants’ account and personal information secure is a top priority. Vanderbilt’s retirement plan provider, Fidelity Investments, has added an extra layer of security to the NetBenefits website. This new feature will require employees’ mobile phone numbers and email addresses so Fidelity can contact them if they forget their passwords or to verify certain online account activity.

If you’re a retirement plan participant, Fidelity encourages you to log in to NetBenefits, go to Profile (under Personal & Contact Information), and verify that your mobile phone numbers, email addresses and other contact details are current. More information is available here.

The first phase of this authentication change began Feb. 14. Fidelity now requires a six-digit one-time code for requests that can be made before employees log in, such as password resets, username lookup and new user registration. This step will be required for other transactions—such as personal information changes, bank wires and rollovers—toward the end of the fiscal year.

For more information, contact Fidelity at 800-343-3548, or visit the website.
