Sessions for next week’s ‘Celebrate’ filling up rapidly

Those attending Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) one-hour programs next week to celebrate staff and faculty — Celebrate the Difference YOU Make Every Day! — will be entered for drawings to win concert and athletic event tickets in addition to hearing inspiring messages from VUMC leadership and patients.

Those attending Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) one-hour programs next week to celebrate staff and faculty — Celebrate the Difference YOU Make Every Day! — will be entered for drawings to win concert and athletic event tickets in addition to hearing inspiring messages from VUMC leadership and patients.

Celebrate will be held in three sessions April 20-21 to acknowledge the many contributions of the Medical Center’s people.

To register, visit the Learning Exchange. Choose a session to attend and enroll (Note — the session at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 21, is full).

The first session will be held Thursday, April 20, at 4:30 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m. Friday, April 21, the available morning event begins at 7:30 a.m. with doors opening at 7 a.m.

Employees, who must have their VUMC badge to enter, are encouraged to be in their seats no later than 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the event.

Drawings will be held during each session for tickets to see entertainers Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Tom Petty, the Nashville Sounds and Vanderbilt baseball games.

There will also be entertainment at the three sessions. NBC’s Sing-Off winners The Vanderbilt Melodores will perform along with special guest Chris Kirkpatrick, founding member of NSYNC.
The event will be held at Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gymnasium.

All employees from the 21st Avenue campus as well as those from Vanderbilt Health One Hundred Oaks, Green Hills and Williamson and surrounding counties are encouraged to attend. Carpooling is recommended for those attending from off campus. For those on campus, walking to the event is recommended, although there will be a special “Celebrate Express” shuttle that can be taken from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

“Celebrating the difference each individual and team at VUMC make every day is a privilege,” said Marilyn Dubree, MSN, R.N., Executive Chief Nursing Officer and co-chair of the event along with Paul Sternberg, M.D. “We are looking forward to celebrating all of the Medical Center’s dedicated staff and faculty who make such a difference in the lives of our patients.”

Celebrate is designed as an in-person, real-time, on-campus experience to enjoy with colleagues. No livestream is available.

“Marilyn and I are very excited about this wonderful event and really want to encourage our wonderful workforce to attend,” said Sternberg, Chief Medical Officer for the Vanderbilt Medical Group and VUMC’s Chief Patient Experience Officer.
