Former Commodore pitcher Donny Everett, who died in a drowning accident on June 2, 2016, will be honored in a ceremony before the start of the Vanderbilt versus Florida baseball game on Saturday, April 15, at Hawkins Field. The game’s start time is 2 p.m.
Everett was a rising sophomore at Vanderbilt at the time of his death.
His parents, Teddy and Susan, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and receive a framed No. 41 Vanderbilt jersey. Prior to the current season, head coach Tim Corbin took No. 41 out of the Vanderbilt rotation in Everett’s honor. In addition, flags at Hawkins Field will be flown at half-staff.
