Rene Raphemot, Ph.D., third from left, a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow at Duke University, delivered the inaugural Discovery Science Emerging Scholars Lecture at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine last week.

Attending the lecture were, from left, Joey Barnett, Ph.D., Linda Sealy, Ph.D., and Jerod Denton, Ph.D., Raphemot’s graduate school mentor. Raphemot earned his doctorate in Pharmacology at Vanderbilt in 2014. His talk was entitled “A Genomic Screen Reveals New Host Factors Critical to Liver-Stage Malaria.”
