Employee Appreciation concert: Roomful of Teeth’s striking performance

Excited concert-goers enjoy themselves at the pre-concert reception March 15.

An unusually cold March night did not sway concert-goers from attending the Employee Appreciation concert featuring Grammy-winning a cappella group Roomful of Teeth. An estimated 481 music-lovers filled Ingram Hall March 15 to watch and listen to a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

At the pre-concert reception, Vanderbilt University employees and their families enjoyed beverages and treats from the Sweet Tooth Bar.

“Roomful of Teeth’s style of a cappella is unorthodox, but watching them live is a unique experience,” said one guest. “Their harmonies and sudden shifting of highs and lows was enthralling,” said another.

Guests also heard the Vanderbilt Chorale and Roomful of Teeth’s premiere of Pyschedelics, a work by Vanderbilt alumnus William Brittelle, BMus’99.

David Sacks

Congratulations go to David Sacks, assistant professor of clinical psychiatry and behavioral sciences, for winning the drawing for tickets to this year’s Stradivarius Society Dinner. Congratulations also go to Matthew Seckman, administrative assistant in Purchasing and Payment Services, for winning tickets to this year’s Rites of Spring.

If you happened to miss out on attending the concert, be sure to check the Employee Appreciation page for photos and information.
