Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt celebrated Dr. Seuss’ 113th birthday March 2 with a series of activities for Read Across America Day. Special guests read their favorite children’s books throughout the day in Seacrest Studios. Former Tennessee Gov. Winfield Dunn, who served from 1971 to 1975, was among the special guest readers. He read “How the Bluebird Got Its Color,” the story Dunn would read to his daughter at bedtime when she was a toddler. Dunn, shown here reading his book, was joined by Manish Sethi, M.D., who helped display illustrations from the book.
